Alright, as promised in the previous post here is the e-Session of Kim & Tony, their wedding is on October 27, 2007, I was already booked for that date before they came in so we settled on the next best thing, an e-Session! For the, we went all out and did it in 2 different locations: Laguna Beach and also Disney Concert Hall. It was the very first time for me to shoot there so I was looking forward to this session very much! Oh, and these guys also came back into the studio to do some bridal shots as well…enjoy:

Wedding of David & Sherry was one of the millions (ok, maybe thousands) of weddings that were held on this super lucky/popular/sought after/earliest booking/rare day! I believe these guys had me booked around 18 months in advance (maybe more). And what a kick ass day it turned out to be. They had a wonderful outdoor ceremony and reception at the Newport Beach Marriott Hotel and Spa, then after that we took the fun down to the beach and got our feet wet at the coast of Laguna Beach (we had to go, it was only 15 min drive away!).

The wedding of Toby & Elissa was a referral from my previous bride Iwei (and David). And I had a blast shooting these guys! They had their ceremony and reception at the Tivoli Terrace in Laguna Beach. This location is actually a place that I drive by every time I shoot engagement sessions down at Laguna Beach, but always thought it was only a play house or something…

Laguna Beach, Rodeo Drive, Santa Monica | E-Session | Virginia & Kenny

okay, I didn’t plan this, but I’m posting 2 E-Sessions back to back. Good thing I don’t shoot the same thing for everyone!

This couple is probably the easiest to shoot so far, because Virginia is my high school friend, Stella’s sister. So I’ve know these guys for so long that It’s like shooting my sister
Anyway, for them, I had planned to shoot a little bit more to experiment different locations, but just my luck that when we got out to the beach at around 10am that it’s SUPER foggy! You can probably tell from some of the shots. It was so bad that I had to shoot in the opposite direction of the coast just to get some non-foggy background….

One good thing that came out of it is that just to wait out the fog, we got to eat a early lunch at Johnny Rocket!!! (me like!) But even after lunch the fog was still too overwhelming, when we were ready to call it a day, things started to burn off….and making us start our shoot at almost 2:20pm instead of 10am. which in turn means less time to shoot at the other locations that I had wanted! (sucky!) Hopefully next time I’ll get more time to shoot and get a cool new spot to show all of you!

On a more technical note, I usually shoot with 2 lenses a 17~40 4.0L and a 70~200 2.8L IS. But that day, I challenged myself to shoot everything with a fixed prime lens. I ended up shooting around 85% of the day with my 50 1.8 lens. I love the 1.8-ness!

Cute Bride + Not too bad Groom = easy couple to shoot!

We shot this out in Laguna Beach, and even though there has been people saying that they now require a permit to shoot there, we still go anyway! But I believe the way that I shoot my couples, it would totally be adding to the atmosphere of the beach not destroying it. So in a way, they should be paying us to go there!….j/k Seriously, when we shoot, we don’t bring tons of gear or get in people’s way just for the hell of it, so everyone that we see are always congratulating the couple or just smiling at us……..but knock on wood……..no ticket not ticket…….

For Martin & Juli’s engagement session, we chose to shoot in Laguna Beach. We met up at Las Brisas restaurant then photographed them at the beach just below there and also took advantage of Heisler Park’s beautiful beach views as well as their awesome landscaping. We had so much fun at this e-session, can’t wait for their wedding in a few months at the Beautiful Ceremony at the Sierra LaVerne Country Club.
