Had a super blast shooting the pre wedding bridal session for Linh and Andy. They are no strangers to our studio because Linh’s Sister Laura did her bridal session at our studio back in December ’08, and their friend Sandy and Man took theirs just a few months ago. So it was an easy decision for them having us shoot their bridal session. LInh and Andy out-did all previous shoots by providing their own prop….an Acura NSX! As most of you know, I usually shoot weddings, portraits, and babies……none of this super cool stuff. But I think I did just fine! Check out some favorites below:

5/31 TiltnShift Workshop = AWESOME!!!

Today Doug and I hosted another Bridal Shootout/Workshop at my studio in Temple City. We had a great turnout with more than 10 photographers in attendance! It was awesome today shooting and sharing some tips with all the photographers regarding general wedding photography, posing the bride and groom (in different situations), and some on and off camera lighting. I was so busy running around checking out some of the photographers’ work that I almost didn’t have any time to take any pictures to show off here on my blog! But thanks to my crew of interns (Magic, Jonathan, and Josh) for holding my flash and helping out with everything I squeezed some time into the session to get a few shots off. Also, an extra interesting note is that one of the attendees is actually the groom from a wedding I shot in 2008! And to top that off, his lovely wife stopped by AND THEY’RE 14 weeks pregnant!!! Doug and I are going to host another bridal photography workshop for up and coming photographers that want to improve their game or just get some shots that they don’t always have the time to try at their “real” weddings. The last one went so well that we thought it would beneficial to many photographers if we held one sooner rather than later. This time we also decided to hold the workshop on a Sunday instead of Monday so it may be more accessible for people who has a day job.

This time we’re going to have more of the same goodness. Real lovely models in real wedding gowns, real wedding day hair and makeup, real photographers instructing and suggesting different approach…etc! We will be focusing on many things…among those are indoor natural light usage, indoor flash usage (both on and off camera), then the fun part…..we’re going to take the workshop outdoor to a kick ass outdoor location that really makes you use/practice your skill utilizing the light, posing the lovely couple, and most importantly communicating/working with the b&g.

This location is actually a place that I drive by every time I shoot engagement sessions down at Laguna Beach, but always thought it was only a play house or something…

Alright, first wedding post after my long break! And it was pretty fun to shoot because….they’re so easy to shoot, and having the wedding at the San Gabriel Hilton isn’t bad either! Ivan and Sherley are a Indonesian couple and for some reason while I’m at the wedding I ran into a few couples who were our Studio’s clients as well….cool!

Yay, the few recent weddings that I’ve shot, I’ve either done engagement sessions for or have had a long relationship with, so even some of them (like this one) may have long hours, the company was good so it was not that bad!

I shot Pauline and Kevin’s Engagement a few months ago and I know I was going to have fun shooting their wedding day. Their bridal party was so fun to shoot as well so …..ok, enough about how much fun…here’s the pictures!
